Gov’t is committed to genuine solution in Kpandai – JAK

Salaga (N/R), Nov. 25, GNA – President John Agyekum Kufuor on Wednesday said the Government was committed to use every legal, security and traditional means to solve the problem at Kpandai.

“The problem at Kpandai is complex and the Government is committed to secure peace in the area by tackling it through all legal, security and traditional means to have genuine solution to the problem for peace to prevail in the area” he said.

President Kufuor made the pledge at a durbar of the chiefs and people of Salaga in the East Gonja District on the third day of his five-day official tour of the Northern Region.

The Kpembe Wura, Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna Kibasis had appealed to the Government to find an amicable solution to the dispute that had kept most of the people outside and were not willing to return to contribute to the development of the area.

The Kpembe Wura called for the creation of an additional district for the area that had vast lands, which had made accelerated development difficult.

He commended the Government for the peace prevailing in the country that had led to improvement in socio-economic life of the people. The Kpembe Wura cautioned leading members of the political parties to be circumspect in their utterances on campaign platforms to ensure peaceful, free and fair elections.
