Govt. institutes National Honours Day

Accra, June 24, GNA – The government has instituted June 30 every year as National Honours Day, with the maiden edition scheduled for Friday June 20.

A statement signed by Mr D.A. Kwapong, Acting Director of Information Services Department, said President John Agyekum Kufuor would confer national honours on 165 deserving Ghanaians for individual excellence, distinction and dedication on various fields of national endeavour.

This year’s celebration would be climaxed by a state luncheon to be hosted by President Kufuor on July 1, which marks the 46th Republican anniversary. 24 June 06
