Gov’t donates assorted items to Muslims

The government has donated a total of 200 bags of rice and sugar to the Muslim community in the Western Region towards this year’s Ramadan celebrations.

Making the presentation at a short ceremony in Sekondi on Monday, Mr. Paul Evans Aidoo, Regional Minister, assured the Muslim community of government support towards the Ramadan celebrations.

Mr Aidoo urged them to continue to pray for the peace and prosperity for the country.

Mr. Yusuf Kofi Gyampson, Regional President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, on behalf of the Muslim community, expressed his profound gratitude to the government for its immense support towards the Muslim community over the years.

He assured the government that Muslims in the country would continuously pray for the peace and development of the country at all times.

He noted that the peace and stability of the country would go a long way to benefit the citizenry, and accelerate national development.

The beneficiary Muslim sects included, the Ahmadiyya, Alasuna and Tijania.
