Gov’t corrects anomaly in Better Ghana laptops recipients list

The Ministry of Environment Science and Technology has issued a statement to correct an anomaly in the list of the beneficiaries of the Better Ghana ICT project as published in the media earlier this week.

According to the statement, the names of beneficiaries of Pentecost University College were inadvertently interchanged with that of the Presbyterian University College.

The statement came after the authorities of the Pentecost University had come out publicly to deny that the beneficiaries as published in the list were students of the school.

The statement which was signed by the Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, Sherry Ayittey said that the Ministry is also working hard to ensure that all anomalies contained in the list of beneficiaries published are rectified.

The statement issued Friday concluded that, the Better Ghana ICT project has inbuilt mechanisms to check against fraud as beneficiaries are required to present their Student IDs before receiving their laptops.
