New Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, Sun Baohong, has lauded government and the people of Ghana over their commitment to enhancing the ‘Better Ghana Agenda’.
The Agenda was launched by late President John Evans Atta Mills during the 2008 electioneering campaign.
Ms Baohong expressed happiness over the achievement President John Dramani Mahama has made since taking over from the late president.
The new Chinese envoy made this known on Friday, April 25 when she presented her letters of credence to the president at the Flagstaff House in Kanda, Accra. She was one of five envoys to present their letters of credence to President Mahama on Friday.
Envoys from Pakistan, Greece, Spain and Malaysia were also at the Flagstaff House to present theirs.
Ms Baohong singled out Ghana’s political stability and rapid economic development for praise.
President Mahama called for more projects between Ghana and China.
“Recently, we have participated in the FOCAC forum in which China pledged over $20 billion to Africa’s development and Ghana in its bilateral relationship has been benefitting from these projects,” President Mahama noted.
All the envoys except those of Greece and Pakistan will be based in Accra. Abuja will host the other two envoys.
