Government won’t play politics with development projects – DCE

Apam (C/R), May 25, GNA – Mr Theophilus Aidoo-Mensah, District Chief Executive for Gomoa West, has said that government would not play politics with development projects because they involved the lives of people. As a result, he gave the assurance that government would complete all developmental projects, which were started by the previous government under the New Patriotic Party.

Mr Aidoo-Mensah said this when he addressed the Gomoa West district Assembly at Apam on Monday.

He said the Assembly had taken delivery of 2,000 school uniform from government and that it had decided to add about 400 more uniforms with funds from its coffers for distribution to needy school children in the district. The DCE said the Assembly had also decided to mount four giant television screens at Gomoa Dawurampong, Gomoa Eshiem, Gomoa Dago and Apam to enable the people in the district to watch live the 2010 World Cup Tournament in South Africa.

The four locations would also be used as forums where important personalities would be invited to air their views on government policies. Mr Aidoo-Mensah also announced that the Assembly had donated two silver cups to the Ghana Education Service to promote quiz competitions among Senior High Schools in the district.

The Member of Parliament for Gomoa West, Mr Francis Kojo Arthur, announced that the road from Gomoa Ankamu to Afransi has been awarded for reconstruction.

The Omanhene of the Gomoa Akyempim Traditional Area, Obirifo Ahunako Ahor II, was among those present.
