Government will help upgrade Techiman market

Techiman (B/A), July 8, GNA – Mr. Kwadwo Nyamekye Marfo, the Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister, has said the government would collaborate with Techiman Municipal Assembly and the Techiman Traditional Council to develop the Techiman central market into a modern one. Mr. Nyamekye Marfo said this at a durbar to climax the “Appour” festival of the chiefs and people of Techiman Traditional Area. He said the health of the people was paramount and the government would assist to establish a nursing training college in the municipality. The regional minister urged the people to participate in the impending district assembly elections to give full meaning to the democratic process in the electoral areas. Mr. Nyamekye Marfo commended Techiman Traditional Council for the peaceful celebration of the festival. Oseadeeyo Akumfi Ameyaw IV, Omanhene of Techiman, advised the people to revere the history of the area and savour this year’s celebration of the festival as the best in recent years.
