Government urged to flush out fake Pastors

Accra, July 17, GNA – Mr Emmanuel Ellis Danku, President of the West Volta Presbyters Union of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana, has called on government to monitor the activities of fake pastors in the country and flush them out.

“The Holy Bible portrays and attested to us about God’s creation for which we are all witnesses, but regrettably human beings have adulterated the beauty of this creation,” he said. Mr Danku was speaking at the Silver Jubilee thanks giving service of the West Volta Presbyters Union of the EP Church on the theme “Enhancing Human Dignity-Vision”, in Accra.

He said the Holy Bible is being used as a cover up to lure innocent people into slavery, adding that, it was the duty of the church elders to mount and lead a vigorous crusade against the vices threatening the dignity of mankind.

He said the anniversary theme was chosen to discuss certain negative acts such as homosexuality, 91Sakawa’ and many others that have assumed alarming proportions in the country. Mr Danku appealed to the security agencies and the relevant stakeholders to help address these issues to rescue 93the future generation of the country”. He noted that the celebration was to raise funds for the construction of an office complex for the church, adding that, this was aimed at re-positioning the church to enhance its human dignity through effective stewardship and evangelism. Reverend Joyce Kofi Kodade, Moderator of the West Volta Presbytery Synod, called on presbyters to be sensitive and considerate in dealing with their members, especially the weaker ones. “Let us always accept each other in the servant Christ-like leadership style to enable us to come together with one voice to praise and glorify the living of God,” he said. 17 July 11
