Government urged to extend ID registration exercise in the E/R

Coaltar (E/R), Oct. 1, GNA – Mr Alexander Ofori Agyekum, an elder and opinion leader of Otoase community near Coaltar in the Eastern Region on Wednesday appealed to the government to extend the National Identification (ID) registration exercise to enable over 700 people not yet registered in the area to do so. Briefing the Ghana News Agency on Wednesday, Mr Agyekum said a visit to one of the centres at Otoase revealed that there was only one camera being used by the registration centres in the area. He said judging by the number of farmers and school children waiting in long queues with only one day left for the close of the exercise, there was the need for a week extension. The people who are yet to register were from communities like Boahenekrom, Otoase-Amanfrom, Owusukrom and Odentekrom. 01 Oct. 08
