Government to give skill training to the youth

Winneba (C/R) Jan. 16 GNA – The government would soon role out a pilot programme to offer skills training to 25 youth from some selected constituencies, as part of the drive to develop the country’s human resource base. The Effutu Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Nii Ephraim made this known during the graduation of 16 apprentices who underwent three years training in Winneba.

He said after the training government would provide the programme beneficiaries with tools to start their business. The MCE commended the Chief Executive Officer of the Joygeo Centre, Madam Angelina Joyce Cann for training the apprentices as her contribution towards the training of the girl child in the municipality. In a speech read on his behalf, Mr Mike Hammah, Minister of Transport and Member of Parliament for Effutu, said he would use the Mike Hammah Education Endowment Trust Fund to sponsor the skill training of the youth and asked the needy in society to access the fund.
