Government makes strides in development

Mr Abdallah Abubakari, Northern Regional Minister has asserted that the government has made huge strides in its development agenda, a situation which is contributing to transforming lives and building a better society.

He was speaking at the Government for the People Forum, organised by the government in Tamale, to educate the people on the projects and programmes being undertaken by the government.

Mr Abubakari said: “The strides we have made set the tone and give a solid foundation that we can be proud of as a country.”

“Government shall continue to build on this foundation, which is the surest way of transforming lives and building a better Ghana for today and future generations.”

He enumerated a number of projects undertaken by the government in the region in the areas of education, health and roads.

“In all of this, we have never sought to indicate that we have done it all. Indeed, that cannot be the case because development is a process and must be on-going at all times.”

Mr Haruna Iddrisu, Minister of Employment and Labour Relations also touted the performance of the government describing President John Mahama as an asset to the nation.

He claimed that The NDC had done better than all other governments that had served the country during fourth republic.

Alhaji Inusah Fuseini, Minister of Roads and Highways enumerated completed and ongoing road projects in the region, assuring that the government would continue to expand infrastructure to facilitate business development.

Alhaji Fuseini said roads are the most critical pillars for government, whilst a safe and reliable road network is necessary to facilitate and enhance the socio-economic development of the country.
