Government gives Swedru Hospital new blood bank refrigerator

Agona Swedru, Feb. 22, GNA – The government has replaced the improvise= d blood bank refrigerator at the Agona Swedru Government Hospital with a new one. The Member of Parliament for Agona West, Mr Samuel Kweku Obodai, told the Ghana News Agency that the fridge was given to the Municipal hospital following media reports that blood could not be preserved there for longer periods due to the lack of a proper refrigerator.

Mr Obodai said after the publication he approached the Minister of Health and the refrigerator was given to the hospital. The MP expressed his appreciation to the Minister for the prompt actio= n in replacing the refrigerator. Mrs Cynthia Morrison, an aspiring New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Agona West, has donated GH¢500 while another philanthropist also presented GH¢300 towards the procurement of a blood b= ank refrigerator. These presentations were made before the government came to the aid of the hospital.
