Government Committed to Stemming Corruption

Bodada (V/R), Sept 8, GNA – Prof Kofi Awoonor, Chairman of the Council of State, has said the government was committed to fighting corruption that was fast becoming endemic.

He said President John Atta Mills had demonstrated modesty, humility and integrity and that the President was leading by example. Prof Awoonor said this at the Buem Congress 2009, under the auspices of the Coalition for Peace and Development in Buem at Bodada at the weekend.

He said government’s priority was to stem corruption and to demonstrate new ways of doing things to move the nation forward. Prof Awoonor appealed to the youth to abstain from negative and get-rich-quick tendencies.
