Government asked to focus on job creation

Sunyani (B/A), Jan. 12, GNA – A cross-section of residents of Sunya= ni have appealed to government to focus on political stability, educational development, national security, agriculture, health and job creation to enable the country to attain middle income status.

Many of the residents GNA talked to on Tuesday, have called on government to create employment opportunities for the youth to prevent th= em from engaging in armed robbery, alcoholism, hooliganism and other social vices. George Senaya, a resident and student of the University of Education= , Winneba, asked government to creation jobs to utilize the potentials of t= he youth, especially those who have completed tertiary institutions. He appealed to government to support local industries to create jobs=

and impose or reduce tariffs on imported goods to discourage the influx o= f foreign goods on the domestic market.

Mr Assem Kwame Badu, a tailor called on Ghanaians to abstain for evi= l and trust in God saying “Sin separates us from our relations with God. Corruption and bribery can seriously undermine our efforts to develop”. Mr Kofi Boateng, a radio presenter of Sky FM in Sunyani, asked government to promote training in science and technology to support industrialization.

Madam Evelyn Boateng, a hairdresser, called on government to provide jobs and social amenities to improve the welfare of the people. Mr Godfred Owusu, a student of University of Cape Coast, urged the Police to step up efforts in maintaining law and order.

Mr Bernard Bukari, a nurse, said there was the need to expand health facilitates in the country to enable them to delivery quality health and cited that the Goaso Government Hospital in Asunafo North Municipality was under pressure because of the Health Insurance Scheme.
