Government absorbs Tekyia-Ameyaw JSS into public system

Techiman, Sept 29, GNA – Mr Javis Kwabena Agyemang-Badu, the Nkoranza District Director of Education, has said that the Ministry of Education is making efforts to ensure that all young people are equipped with fundamental knowledge and attitudes. This, he said, would enable them to contribute meaningfully to as well as benefit from national development. Mr Agyemang-Badu said this when inaugurating Takyia-Ameyaw Junior Secondary School that had been absorbed by the Ghana Education Service at Techiman.

The JSS was named after the late Omanhene of Techiman Traditional Area, Osabarima Dotobibi Takyia-Ameyaw who died in September 2003. Mr Agyeman-Badu said the best education system would fail if equipment and dedicated teachers were not available and promised to bring more qualified teachers to the school. He called on teachers to refrain from negative attitudes and practices that might have adverse effects on their work. Mr Agyeman-Badu said Kenten Local Authority Primary and Takyia-Ameyaw JSS had been selected as model schools in the municipality.
