GOPDC supports Akwatia Library project

Akwatia, April 8, GNA – The Ghana Oil Palm Development Company (GOPDC) has donated 100 bags of cement to the people of Akwatia towards the building of a community library. The donation followed an appeal made by the Akwatiahene, Osabarima Kofi Boateng III to help the community complete its library, which was at a lintel level.

Presenting the bags of cement to the Akwatiahene, Alhaji Bashir Manu, Community Relations Officer of the company, said supporting any activity that would go into educating people was important to the overall development of the country human resource base. He the company would always welcome such an initiative because it formed part of its vision to educate people. Alhaji Manu hoped such support would provide the needed manpower for the development of area. He pledged the company’s readiness to further assist the library with books when completed. Osabarima Boateng III thanked the company for the gesture and appealed to other companies and individuals to come to the aid of the community. 8 April 08
