Gonja Students commend Minister

Accra, Sept. 28, GNA – The Legon branch of the National Association of Gonjaland Students (NAGS) on Tuesday said the nomination of Mr Abubakar-Saddique Boniface, as New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Salaga was the manifestation of his good works.

The National Executive Committee of the NPP recently endorsed Mr Boniface, an independent Member of Parliament and a Deputy Minister for Tourism and Beautification of the Capital City, as their candidate. A congratulatory message NAGS sent to the Minister said the task ahead of him to achieve success was great and that he should strategise for an effective campaign.

The message signed by Mr Jeduah Adamu Mahama, Secretary of the Association, declared support for Mr Boniface, saying: “We are solidly behind you physically and spiritually.”

The Association in another message called for the assistance of the Minister to help to establish Gonjaland Educational Fund to support hard working, brilliant and needy children in primary and tertiary institutions.

It said the prevalence of extreme poverty in the area coupled with high cost of education painted a gloomy picture for the areas development.
