Gomoa West DCE urges parents to attach importance to KG

Gomoa Fawomanye (C/R), Oct 3, GNA – The Gomoa West District Chief Executive, Mr Theophilus Aidoo-Mensah, has urged parents to attach importance to kindergarten education and not to regard it as a place where children only go to play. He said kindergarten is the foundation of basic education and must be accorded the importance it deserved. Mr Aidoo-Mensah said this when inaugurating a GH¢26,910 kindergarten built by the Gomoa West Assembly for the people of Gomoa Fawomanye and Gomo= a Amanful. He appealed to the two communities to cooperate to ensure that the facility was maintained and expressed concern about misunderstandings between the two communities over the citing of a Junior High School. Mr Aidoo-Mensah urged the two communities to thrash out the issue as early as possible for work to begin on the JHS. Mr Clement Nana Addai, Adaa-Ngyiresi Circuit Supervisor of the Ghana Education Service, urged parents to invest in the education of their children and not to rely on the government for everything for the children. Nana Abekah II, Chief of Fawomanye, appealed to the DCE to help the school to benefit from the School Feeding Programme. Obrempong Kwandoh VIII, chief of Amanful, commended the government on efforts it is making to improve education throughout the country.
