GOMOA MPRUMEM AKWAMBO FESTIVAL

The Chiefs and people of Gomoa Mprumem in the Apam District of the Central Region have held a durbar to round off their annual Akwambo festival. The occasion was also used to generate funds to support development projects in the area. The projects include the extension of Electricity and construction of a community centre. In an address, the Mankrado of the town, Nana Afedzi Bentum urged the people, especially the youth, to unite and support development programmes. Mr.. J. Y. Frimpong, an opinion leader, announced that under the Sasakawa African Global Link Project, the town will be provided with a corn-mill to enable the women’s co-operative society to increase its production of kenkey. The Assembly member for the area, Mr.. Maxwell Paintsil called on the youth to support the elders to develop the town. End
