Gomoa East DCE laid to rest

The mortal remains of the late Isaac Kingsley Ahunu-Armah, Gomoa East District Chief Executive (DCE), was laid to rest at the Gomoa Fetteh Methodist Church Cemetery.

The Central Regional Minister, Mr Acquinas Tawiah Quansah, led the government delegation, and the Central Regional executives and members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), to the burial ceremony.

Mr Kofi Ashiah, Central Regional Organizer of the NDC laid a wreath on behalf of the party, while Mrs Emma Ahunu-Armah, wife of the late DCE, also laid one on behalf of the children, MMDCEs and others.

The late Ahunu-Armah was survived by six children, four boys and two girls.

In a sermon, Rt Rev. Dr John Buabeng-Odoom, Presiding Bishop of the Winneba Diocese of the Methodist Church, urged Christians to eschew vanity, because it could spell their doom after death.

He said humility and good name should be the hallmark of every human being, because they were the only trump cards to help man to have eternal life.

Rt Rev Dr Buabeng-Odoom praised the late DCE for his role in education and other social developments in the district.

Mr Theophilus Adu-Mensah, Gomoa West District Chief Executive (DCE) who spoke on behalf of the MMDCEs in the region, said the people of Gomoa and the entire nation, had lost a great man.

He described the Late DCE as development-oriented, and a good listener, adding that he did everything to ensure that Gomoa West and East districts became better places to live in.

Mr Adu-Mensah appealed to the supporters of NDC in the district to remain calm whilst government replaced the DCE.
