Gomoa East Assembly donate food items to support Ramadan fasting

Gomoa Afranse (C/R), Aug 29, GNA – The Gomoa East District Assembly has donated food items to Moslems in the district to support them in the Ramada= n fasting. The items, worth about GH¢12,000, was made up of 60 maxi bags of ric= e and 45 maxi bags of maize. Speaking at the presentation ceremony at Gomoa Afranse Mr Isaac Kingsley Ahunu-Armah, the District Chief Executive for Gomoa East, expresse= d satisfaction about how religious groups co-exist peacefully in the country. He said the donation was in appreciation of the contributions of Moslems to the national development and urged them to continue to pray for peace and the stability of the country.

Mr Ustaz Ismail Obeng, Gomoa Circuit Missionary and Mr Shehu Alhassan Osman, Chief Imam for Gomoa Takyiam who jointly received the items expresse= d gratitude to the government for the immense support for Moslems in the country. Mr Obeng said the donation from government to Moslems during their Ramadan fasting had become an annual affair and 93we are grateful for that= ..” Chief Imam Osman assured the government of the support of Moslems in ensuring that peace prevails in the country.
