Gomoa District Assembly lauds President Kufuor

Apam (C/R), Dec. 27, GNA – The Gomoa District Assembly has congratulated President John Agyekum Kufuor on his re-election for another four-year term.

A message signed by Mr Fred Oscar Abban, the Presiding Member of the Assembly, also congratulated the three other presidential candidates in the Dec.7 elections for their roles in promoting democracy in the country.

The message commended Ghanaians for conducting peaceful, free and fair elections.

It urged Ghanaians to put behind them the rancour of the electioneering campaign and forge ahead with unity of purpose to move the nation forward.

The message appealed to supporters of the various political parties to desist from harassing people they perceived as not voting for their candidates.

It said since Ghanaians had opted for multi-party democracy, it would not have been possible for all to vote for candidates of one political party therefore multiple voting was healthy for democracy. 27 Dec. 04
