Golokwati-Hohoe road to be rehabilitated

Hohoe, Jun 21, GNA – The 19-kilometre Golokwati-Hohoe road, which is in a deplorable state, has been awarded on contract to an Israeli company, at a cost of about 19 billion cedis.

Mr James Komla Dogbe, Hohoe District Chief Executive (DCE) disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview on Monday. He said the company, Roliden Limited, was expected to complete the project within 12 months.

The DCE said several other feeder roads, including Lolobi-Kumasi to Likpe-Abrane and Golokwati to Fodome were being rehabilitated to facilitate the easy movement of people and farm produce to the buying centres.

Mr Dogbe said the government was aware of the problems facing the rural areas and would leave no stone unturned to solve them. He said potholes on the Hohoe town roads were being tackled, adding that, the road around the main market was also being worked on.
