Accra, June 18, GNA – All is set for this month’s Achimota Golf Club Medal Open Championship scheduled for the Achimota course on Saturday, June 20.
Mr Kwabena Oteng-Aboagye, General Manager of the Achimota Golf Club told GNA Sports in Accra on Thursday, that the Club would use the occasion to select 60 players to represent the Club in the U.T. Bank Championship which would be held later in the year. He said the competition which would be sponsored by Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana Limited would be played in accordance with the rules of the Ghana Golf Association and the local rules of the Achimota Golf Club.
Mike Ezan, Mike Aggrey, Yaw Assah-Sam, Michael Aggrey, Charles Tabi, Matthias Dorfe and Paul List, all of the Club re expected to participate in the event.
The Ladies segment would see stiff competition as ‘Lady Scientific” Florence Etwi-Barimah would lead the Tema team which would include Adelaide Owusu-Adjapong, Grace Afriyie, Margaret Owusu-Baah, Esi Cobbina and Esther Antwi.
The competition, which is being played in the League system would end in December, 2009. 18 June 09
