Goldfields donates books to Mensah Sarbah Hall Library

Accra, Oct 29, GNA- Goldfields Ghana Limited, has presented 100 books worth GH=A22,00 (20 million cedis) to the library of the Mensah Sarbah Hall of the University of Ghana, Legon. The donation was in response to an appeal made by the students for the Agriculture and Business Faculties of the Hall, as part of the company’s social responsibility.

Presenting the books, Dr Toni Aubynn, Corporate Manager, in charge of Public Affairs and Social Development of Goldfields, hoped the beneficiaries would use the books well to improve their capacity to serve Ghana better.

Dr Aubynn advised the students not only to handle the books with care, but to also desist from hiding them from their colleagues. Dr James Adomako, Hall Master received the books on behalf of the students, and thanked Goldfields for the wonderful gesture. Dr Adomako observed that most of the books in the Hall’s library were very old, and the donation would go a long in helping students get assess to new and modern books. Mr Nathaniel Odoi Laryea, Junior Common Room President assured the donors that the books would be put to good use.
