Gold Stars CEO Urges Government to Site New Stadium in Bibiani

Gold Stars Chief Executive Officer John Kwesi Adu has called on the government to consider Bibiani as the ideal location for the newly proposed stadium earmarked for the Western North Region.

Speaking to 3SPORTS, Mr. Adu praised both the President and the Minister of Sports for what he described as a renewed commitment to developing football infrastructure across the country. He argued, however, that Bibiani home to the reigning Ghana Premier League champions, Gold Stars has earned the right to host such a major facility.

“We thank the President and the Sports Minister for their vision to develop football in Ghana,” he said.

“A new stadium has been planned for the Western North Region, and in my view, Bibiani deserves it. We’ve hosted top-flight football for years, and Gold Stars are currently the GPL champions.”

Mr. Adu stressed that the decision should not be influenced by politics, insisting the stadium must be sited where it will be most useful.

“This shouldn’t be political the stadium must go where it will serve its purpose best,” he added.

Gold Stars’ recent success has boosted local enthusiasm for football in the region, and many supporters see the club’s achievements as justification for prioritising Bibiani in future infrastructure projects.
