God can win souls through celebs – Bishop Sampson Amoateng

The General Overseer of House of Miracle (HOM) church has said celebrities have a role to play in winning souls for Christ.

This, he explained, was one of the reasons a number of Ghanaian and Nigerian stars were recently hosted in his church for a worship programme.

The programme, dubbed ‘Stars In Worship’, was held early this month on December 6 at the HOM premises at Medina Estate. It was attended by Citi FM’s Jessica Saforo, Trigmatic, Nollywood’s Kalu Ikeagwu, YFM’s Caroline Sampson, actors Nana Ama McBrown, Ama K. Abebrese and Omar Sheriff Captain.

The rest included Klint The Drunk, Joe Mettle and Soraya Mensah, with Live FM’s Jeremie and Nigeria’s MC Abbey as emcees of the programme.

Speaking in an interview after the ceremony, Bishop Sampson Amoateng explained that the event was put together to bring stars in Ghana to celebrate God’s goodness in their lives and for helping them to become stars.

He added that bringing the stars on the same platform was to encourage the youngsters who want to be like them to achieve higher heights while they follow the doctrines of Christ.

Bishop Sampson Amoateng, who was overwhelmed by the huge turnout at the event said apart from the worship event being an annual one, he intends to hold subsequent ones at a bigger venue like the conference centre.

“The church takes close to 1000 people but I was surprised it was full to the brim on the night. I am thinking of taking the event to another place, looking at the number of people who trooped in to the event.”

“I thank everyone who made it to the event, and I promise a more powerful show the next time,” he added.

The Stars In Worship event was the second of its kind organised by HOM in conjunction with SSA Ventures to bring celebrities under one umbrella to worship God and convince others to give their lives to Christ.
