Goat stealing case in Brakwa

Brakwa (C/R), Feb. 14, GNA – Two men, Yaw Danina, 47 and Kwame Asare, 24 are helping the Brakwa Police in their investigation into a goat stealing case in which Kwaku Effah, 35, is on the run at Brakwa.

Kwaku Effah, unemployed and a native of Brakwa in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District is on a 12-month bond to be of good behaviour imposed on him in September 2004 by the Breman-Asikuma Magistrate Court for a similar offence.

Sources close to the GNA said one Yaw Awudi on night patrol on February 12, 2004 spotted Effah carrying a sack, which he deposited in the house of Yaw Danina.

When confronted Kwaku Effah said the sack contained bush meat but upon inspection it was found to be a goat.

A report was made to the Community Watchdog Committee led by Kojo Yeboah and the three, Yaw Danina, Kwame Asare Kwaku Effah were arrested but Effah managed to escape but when they were being escorted to the police.

When contacted the police confirmed that the two were in custody pending further investigations while the carcass has been preserved to be used as an exhibit in court.
