Goaso Diocese Catholic Bishop Cautions Youth Against Drug Abuse

The Catholic Bishop of the Goaso Diocese in the Ahafo Region, Most Rev. Peter Kwaku Atuahene, has urged the youth to desist from drug abuse and resist the influence of peer pressure.

He made this call on Friday, July 25, during the Catholic Youth Biennial Rally held at Kenyasi. The event, themed “Jubilee Year: Time to Proclaim Christ, Hope for the Church and Ghana,” aimed at strengthening the faith of young Catholics and encouraging moral discipline.

Bishop Atuahene emphasized the need for young people to uphold their Catholic values and make responsible choices in life. He also cautioned the public to seek proper medical care at health facilities rather than resorting to self-medication, which he described as a common path to drug abuse.

Assistant Youth Chairman, Asamoah Twumasi Vondee, disclosed that the rally was expected to host over 2,000 youth from all 34 parishes within the diocese.
