GNP chairman resigns

Accra, June 23, GNA – Mr. Kobina Amo Aidoo, Chairman of the Ghana National Party, has resigned from his party.

A statement issued by the Party which confirmed the resignation said Mr Aidoo gave no reasons.

The party has therefore advised executive members of the GNP not to associate Mr. Aidoo’s activities with the party with effect from June 20, 2008.

“Since the matter is an internal matter, we wish to make it clear that we will not speculate on the matter until such time that we have ample and solid information deemed necessary for the Ghanaian populace.”

The statement said there was no animosity between the GNP and Mr Aidoo and expressed best wishes for him as well as the party’s readiness to welcome him back should he choose to do so.

The party urged Ghanaians to join them since it was open to every citizen and had good intentions for a better future for all. 23
