Manso-Nkwanta (Ash), July 7, GNA- The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) has called off all impending demonstrations by teachers to back their demand for the restoration of CAP 30. Mr E.K. Amoah, Amansie West District Director of Education, who announced this, said the directive from the national secretariat of GNAT was in response to the setting up of a Commission by President J A Kufuor to come out with a sustainable pension scheme for workers.

Teachers in the Amansie West district therefore had to call off their intended demonstration at Manso-Nkwanta on Tuesday. The teachers numbering about 400 had assembled at the Manso-Nkwanta to present their petition to the President through the District Chief Executive.

However, after being told of the decision of their national secretariat, the teachers dispersed to their various stations.
