Glaucoma awareness week to be launched next week

Accra, Dec. 04, GNA – This year’s Glaucoma Awareness week would be launched on Wednesday, December 13 to create public awareness of the disease.

The activities for the week, which starts on December 11 to 16, will be under the theme “What is Glaucoma”, with Glaucoma lectures to be delivered by Dr James Clarke, Specialist Ophthalmologist of the Crystal Eye Centre, Adenta, near Accra.

A statement in Accra signed by the National President of the Glaucoma Association of Ghana, H.K Abutiate said the Association would organize free public screening on Saturday, December 16 at the Bawaleshie Cluster of Schools near the East Legon Traffic Lights. The release urged the public not to ignore glaucoma, “it will not ignore you”.
