GJA hosts Somali Journalist

Accra, Jan. 18, GNA – The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) is hosting an eminent Somali Journalist and Human Rights Activist, Mr Nuruddin Farah.

A statement signed by Mr Bright Blewu, Secretary of the GJA, said Mr Farah would be the guest of media personnel and writers at the Ghana International Press Centre on Thursday at 1730 hours.

The statement said the programme dubbed: “An Evening with Nuruddin Farah” is being organised by the Entertainment Committee of the GJA and sponsored by the Media Foundation for West Africa.

Mr Farah, whose writings include numerous essays and articles in major newspapers, magazines and journals around the world has for the last 30 years lived and worked in many parts of Africa.

He has eight acclaimed novels to his credit and has received many prestigious international prizes for his works of fiction. He has been vocal in the search for peace and unity in Somalia.
