GJA Executives pay courtesy call on NDC

Accra, Nov. 10, GNA – The newly elected National Executives of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) led by its President, Ms. Adjoa Yeboah-Afari on Monday paid a courtesy call on the Leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at the Party’s National Headquarters in Accra.

This was contained in a release signed by Nestor Hoeyi, Press Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Mr John Mahama, Director of Communications of the Party, who welcomed the delegation, said the party was prepared to work closely with the GJA to deepen democracy in the country and for the development of the nation.

He said the perception of a section of the media that the NDC was averse to the media was a thing of the past and pledged that the Party would continue to see the media as a development partner either in opposition or in government.

The General Secretary, Dr Josiah Aryeh advised the media to be professional and exercise circumspection in their work to raise the image of journalism in the Country.

Ms Yeboah-Afari said the Association would do everything in its capacity to give meaning to multi-party democracy in the Country. She said one of the goals of GJA was to ensure that Journalists gave fair publicity to all shades of opinions.
