Give Salaries That Will Motivate Workers- Civil Servants Tell Gov’t

Wa, Mr. Smart Chigabatia, Executive Secretary of the Civil Servants Association, has called on the government to implement a rationalised salary policy that would motivate workers to give of their best for the realisation of the objectives of vision 2020 programme. Interacting with civil servants at Wa today, Mr. Chigabatia was of the view that a rationalised salary policy would not only motivate workers to increase productivity but it would help reduce the temptation of bribery and other negative activities. The executive secretary reiterated his call on the Trades Union Congress to reconsider its decision to withdraw from the consultative committee studying the report on the Price Water House report. Mr. Chigabatia announced that the association has acquired land to put up hostels in Bolgatanga, Ho, Kumasi and Tamale. The Accra one has been completed and is due for occupation next month. He appealed to civil servants to stand solidly behind the leadership of the association, saying that destroying their leaders during crisis does not solve problems.
