Give NPP 30% of all business contracts – Dag Heward-Mills

The Presiding Bishop of the Lighthouse Chapel International, Bishop Dag Heward-Mills, has urged President John Dramani Mahama to ensure equitable and fair distribution of wealth, resources and opportunities.

He stressed that political, religious and ethnic persuasions should not determine the success or failure of an individual.

As a result, he appealed to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government to, in the name of national cohesion, offer the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) followers at least 30 per cent of all business contracts.

The respected man of God offered the advice when delivering a sermon at the special watch night service held at the Qodesh, Accra, to usher in the New Year.

“The reason businesses don’t do well in Ghana is that people are not faithful in what they do and therefore incur debts instead of posting profits due to the activities of certain characters in position,” he stressed.

To Bishop Heward-Mills, such a gesture will douse the anger and tensions that always exist after elections.

Against that backdrop, he called on President Mahama to work assiduously to maintain the existing peace and initiate policies that will help better the lives of the citizenry.
