Give deportees jobs – MLGWU appeals to private sector

The Migrant Labour General Workers Union (MLGWU) is advocating for the private sector and business owners to consider employing the 75 deportees who were recently deported from the United States.

General Secretary of MLGWU, Justice Baako Ntarmah, says the move will help reintegrate the deportees back into society.

Per his view, each company could employ at least 10 migrants based on their competence and skills.

Seventy-five Ghanaian illegal immigrants in the United States of America were recently deported. They arrived at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) in Accra on Wednesday, morning in handcuffs.

They had applied for asylum in the USA but their applications were rejected and they were subsequently deported.

Speaking to Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, the General Secretary admonished Churches, Families and other stakeholders to take the appeal seriously so the deportees will not feel betrayed.
