Girl dies before exams D-day

A female student of the Kotobabi Number Two Junior High School (JHS) who was supposed to write the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) at the Sakumno School Complex Primary centre, was reported to have died before commencement of the exam.

Mr Michael Agoku, the supervisor of the centre, told the GNA that the deceased was aged about 14 years but could not give other details.

Six thousand, nine hundred and ninety candidates comprising of 3,306 and 3,684 boys and girls, respectively, on Monday, participated in this year’s BECE in the Tema Metropolis.

Forty-seven public schools in the Metropolis, registered 3,494 candidates while the remaining 3,496 candidates were from 109 private schools.
