Girl, 8, drowns in a well

An eight-year-old girl has drowned in a well at Klo-Agogo in the Yilo Krobo district of the Eastern region.

The deceased identified only as Ruth accidentally fell into the well Saturday and died when she attempted to draw water.

Her body has been retrieved and buried, Starr News’ Kojo Ansah reports.

According to the locals, this is the third of such incident that has happened in recent times due to the poor construction of the well.

They are urging the District Assembly to immediately come to their aid by improving the state of the well to save lives.

The well has since been closed.
