Girl, 14, dies in Chinese stone quarry pit

A 14-year-old girl has died in a mining pit at Awutu in the Central region.

The pit, Penseng Quarry Limited according to reports, belong to a Chinese stone quarry company.

Kasapa FM’s Benjamin Amuzu reported that the Chinese owners of the pit have failed to give details on the incident due to their inability to speak English.

Amuzu added that the case has been reported to the Police who have commenced investigations into the incident.

The remains of the girl has since been deposited at the Winneba Hospital mortuary.
