GHS to protect 4.7 million Ghanaians from malaria

Accra, Nov. 14, GNA – The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has embarked on a campaign to distribute 2.35 million bed nets to prevent malaria in Ghana.

The campaign supported by the UK Government and UNICEF has taken off in the Western Region where the insecticide treated bed nets are currently being distributed.

A statement from the GHS copied the Ghana News Agency said the campaign which would be extended to the Central Region as part of efforts to protect almost five million Ghanaians against malaria, including nearly one million children under the age of five.

“Volunteers throughout the Regions will work closely with the Regional and District health authorities, taking part in the ‘hang up’ campaign organised to show people how to put up the nets, and use them effectively,” t’
