GHOSPA serves 10-day notice to demonstrate

The Government and Hospital Pharmacists Association (GHOSPA) has threatened to hit the streets if the National Labour Commission, the Fair Wages and Salary Commission and the government do not address their grievances within 10 days.

GHOSPA has been battling the FWSC over unfair placement on the single spine salary structure, payment of market premium and poor working conditions for a while now.

The Commission has already hinted there is very little it can do about the strike which has left many patients stranded.

The chairman of GHOSPA Agyemang Badu told Starr News the strike is the last attempt after enduring inequity and injustice for six years.

“We can no longer buy into more promises of tomorrow. We want to assure Government that having waited patiently for six years we are ready to ensure this issue is resolved, but after 10 days we will begin to deploy additional measures to bring our plights to the attention of the president, government and the good people of Ghana,” Badu said.

“This strike is our last attempt to send the message clear that we have endured enough inequity and injustice…. It is interesting to know that since we declared this strike, the National Labour Commission rushed to court, we want to assure the National Labour Commission that we are ready for them,” he served notice.
