GHANASS: Burnt dormitory renovated

The Deputy Minister of Education in-charge of Pre-tertiary, Mr Alexander Kyeremeh, on Monday May 9 inaugurated and handed over the renovated girls’ dormitory to the Ghana Secondary School (GHANASS) in Koforidua.

The dormitory, which houses over 600 first year girls, was gutted by fire in March and burnt belongings of some students.

Mr Kyeremeh pledged the Ministry would build a new girls’ dormitory to absorb the first year students and decongest the current one.

He urged heads of the various Senior High Schools to ensure students did not carry electrical appliances into the dormitories, as they could start fires.

He was accompanied by Mavis Ama Frimpong, the Eastern Regional Minister.
