Ghana’s political leaders are self-centered and visionless- Charles Sam

The Chief Executive Officer of Golden Future Promotions, Charles Sam, says the country lacks visionary political leaders to develop it.

According to him, Ghana’s economic retrogression began after the overthrow of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah in 1996.

Charles Sam was commenting on the current state of the economy on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme on Thursday.

He believes if successive presidents were futurists and visionaries like Nkrumah, Ghana would have been at par with first world countries like the United States and Britain.

The motivational speaker blamed the current socio-economic crisis in the country on bad political leadership by both the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) governments.

He said no country can develop if its leaders are self-centered and visionless who only think about how to enrich themselves.

Charles Sam noted that Ghana has talented people willing to contribute their quota to national development, but bad leadership is hampering their progress.

He warned that if Ghana’s political leadership do not have a change in attitude towards solving national problems, the suffering masses might retaliate.

The CEO of Golden Future Promotions challenged the Mahama-led administration to as a matter of urgency take a cue from economic measures taken by countries such as South Korea, Singapore, China and Malaysia to develop the country.

Charles Sam also urged the NPP to support government to implement stringent measures to alleviate poverty in Ghana.
