Ghana’s independence changed the outlook of Africa

Mrs Pauluna Adinyirah, Kpando Municipal Chief Executive has said Ghana’s Independence in 1957 changed the outlook and status of Africa for self rule.

She acknowledged the selfless struggle by the forebears and entreated heads of institutions and the citizens to draw inspiration from the event for development.

Mrs Adinyirah made this remark at the 58th Independence Day parade at Kpando.

It was attended by 30 schools including Cadet corps from Bishop Hermann, Kpando Secondary, Kpando Secondary/Technical and Delta Preparatory with music provided by the cadets.

It was under theme, “Achieving Transformation National Unity.”

Mrs Adinyirah said the resolve and determination which heralded the independence gave birth to the “Better Ghana” agenda, which she believes was an ‘economic game-changer’ for the country.

She said governance was a shared responsibility “but unless we take the collective ownership and challenges…most of our efforts will come to nothing.”

The MCE told the youth that “Ghana needs your dynamism, energy and dreams of excellence for development”.

Mrs Adinyirah asked the people to be circumspect on environmental degradation and participate in the upcoming district level elections.

Participants matched past the dais with the MCE taking the salute.
