Ghana?s Image In Asia Deteriorating

Ghana’s image in Hong Kong and China is allegedly deteriorating very fast. This is because a large number of fraudsters who are reported to be mostly Nigerians have managed to acquire Ghanaian passports.

This state of affairs has made the Hong Kong Immigration reduce the thirty days stay without visa to fourteen days and it is possible Ghanaians would be eventually asked to acquire visas before entering that country. A Ghanaian businessman, Nana Poku who returned from Hong Kong last Saturday disclosed this to PeaceFM in an exclusive interview today in Accra. Nana Poku also explained that in recent past, Ghanaians were not scrutinized with intensity when they arrived in Hong Kong because they were reported to have conducted themselves very well, but the situation has changed due to the illegal acquisition of Ghanaian passports by other nationals, especially Nigerians.

The Chief Executive Officer of White Oak Travel & Tours, Nana Kyei Baffour also confirmed that a lot of Nigerians entice him with huge sums of money to help them acquire Ghanaian passports, but he always turns them away.
