Ghana’s economy flying high – Cameron

British Prime Minister David Cameron has described as commendable, Ghana’s economic growth over the last few years.

He says Britain looks forward to expanding collaboration with Ghana in bilateral trade and investment in the coming years.

David Cameron made the remarks when Ghana’s President, John Mahama, called on him at Number 10 Downing Street on Friday.

He said: “We are full of admiration for the economic progress you are making. I think you are the eighth fastest growing economy in the world which is immensely impressive”.

Mr. Cameron added: “We are very grateful for the support you are giving my G8 agenda of making action on tax and transparency and on trade really important to the developing and developed world”.

The British Leader also noted that though Ghana has a healthy relationship with Britain in terms of bilateral relationship, a lot more can be done on bilateral trade between the two countries.

The Premier also commended President Mahama for his role in regional security in the African sub-region.

For his part, President Mahama said Ghana will strive to build on its economic gains.

Mr. Mahama, who is currently in the United Kingdom, will also partake in the upcoming G8 summit.
