Ghanair Explains Reasons For Salary Delays

The management of Ghana Airways has been explaining the reasons for the delay in payment of salaries to employees of the airline.

Employees of Ghana Airways had complained that their salaries for January had not been paid despite the recent increases in fuel.

But the airline’s chief executive, Mr. Panford Bray says they had to pay a penalty for landing at the Saudi airport as the authorities refused to grant landing rights to the Hajj Pilgrims.

He explained that Ghana Airways had to pay from its own coffers and therefore it was currently cash strapped.

Mr. Bray however promised that the salaries of Ghana Airways staff would be settled on Friday.
