Ghanaians will smile soon – Prez Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has given the assurance that Ghana is about to experience an economic boom that has never been recorded in the history of the West African country.

Mahama, who has been out of the country attending the UN General Assembly in the US and the African Business Global Forum in the UAE, told a gathering in Accra upon his return Sunday that his trip has yielded positive results.

“We’ve had several meetings and discussions with various groups and people that I’m sure will be of benefit to Ghana… Many good things will happen to Ghana,” Mahama predicted.

However, he rallied Ghanaians to keep on working hard “to achieve our development goals.” The ailing Cedi has been enjoying some steadiness over the last few weeks against the major currencies. This should not get into the heads of Ghanaians, the president said.

According to him, “Although we have achieved some economic stability over the weeks, we are not yet out of the woods, and we need to continue to work harder to achieve our development goals.”

President Mahama, who held talks with development partners and investors whiles away, noted that the economy will bounce back to “become much stronger and resilient, but we need the cooperation of everybody in the country to achieve that.”
