Ghanaians urged to work harder to sustain gains

Kumasi, May 2, GNA – Togbe Mawufeame Fugah, Head of the Ewe Community in the Ashanti Region, has asked Ghanaian leaders and the citizenry to continually demonstrate a high sense of patriotism in the affairs of the nation to help to achieve sustainable development.

He observed that though the nation had distinguished herself in good governance, rule of law and democratic dispensation, particularly under the Fourth Republican Constitution, 93we should not be complacent by under-estimating the gains made through our own actions and utterances”.

He said it was expected of all and sundry to be selfless and also committed to cushioning the nation on the path to progress by working assiduously in their respective endeavours to help to alleviate poverty to bring comfort to the masses. Togbe Fugah was inaugurating the Youth Wing of the Ewe Community (Ewedome Norvisi Haborbor) at Atonsu in Kumasi. The theme was 93Love and Unity”.

He praised the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, for his efforts to foster inter-tribal harmony in the region, saying the Ewe Community was grateful to the King for his continuous support to them. Togbe Fugah charged the leadership to liaise with other Ewe Associations in the region to facilitate their activities for the common good of the people.

Mr Robert Asieni, Chairman of the Wing, appealed to the members to pay their dues regularly and also to remain united towards achieving their aims and objectives.
